Chole tikki

Chole tikki is a simple recipe made from mashed boiled potatoes,chickpeas with spices.

It is a perfect tea time snacks or starter.

INGREDIENTS OF CHOLE TIKKI

  • Chickpeas or chole – 1cup
  • Oil-for shallow frying
  • Potato-2medium size(boiled)
  • Turmeric powder -1/2teaspoon
  • Red chili powder-1teaspoon
  • Garam masala-1teaspoon
  • Coriander powder-1/2teaspoon
  • Lemon juice-1teaspoon(optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Onion -1finely chopped
  • Green chili-2 finely chopped
  • Bread crumbs-1cup

Preparation

Steps of chole tikki recipe:

  • Soak the chickpeas over night or 6-7hr.Boil it in a pressure cooker with some water upto 2-3whistle.
  • Grate or mash the potatoes in a bowl.
  • Add the chickpeas and mash lightly. Then add chopped onions, green chillies, salt, chili powder,turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder and lemon juice and mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into tikkis.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a non stick grill pan.
  • Spread rice flour or bread crumbs in a plate.
  • Roll each tikki in rice flour or bread crumbs and place in the pan.
  • Now, fry the tikkis both sides till it’s golden brown.
  • Serve hot….

  4. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into tikkis.
  5. Heat sufficient oil in a non stick grill pan.
  6. Spread rice flour or bread crumbs in a plate.Here I used bread crumbs. Bread crumbs gives the tikkis crispness.
  7. Roll each tikki in rice flour or bread crumbs and place in the pan.
  8. Now,  fry the tikkis both sides till it’s golden brown.
  9. Serve hot as a starter or evening snacks.
