Bhindi do pyaza

Bhindi do pyaza is a simple and perfect recipe for roti or chapati. Bhindi means lady finger or okra,do pyaza means two times use onion.Bhindi do pyaza is made with cubed or sliced okra, which is cooked with twice the amount of onions and spices.

It goes well with steamed rice or chapati Or naan.

INGREDIENTS OF BHINDI Do PYZA

  • Bhindi /Lady finger – 250 gm
  • Onion – 1finely chopped
  • Onion-1cut into diced
  • Mustard seeds-1/2teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds-1/2teaspoon
  • Tomato-1chopped
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil – 4 table spoons
  • Green chili – 2
  • Chili powder-1teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder-1/4teaspoon
  • Garam masala-1teaspoon
  • Amchur powder-1/2teaspoon
  • Lemon juice-1/2teaspoon(optional)

Preparation

Steps of Bhindi Do pyaza recipe

  • At first clean the bhindi, dry and Cut into 1.5-inch pieces.
  • Heat 2tablespoon oil in a tava or heavy bottomed pan. Put bhindi pieces on the pan .
  • Uncover and cook till the okra pieces turn crisp and dry (around 5mins).Sprinkle salt.
  • Remove and keep aside.
  • In the same pan put 1table spoon oil, Add onions saute for 3-4min over high flame. Don’t cover the lid.keep aside.
  • Now in the same pan add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, when it starts crackled ,add finely chopped onions,green chilies and fry till pink color over medium flame.
  • Now put chopped tomato,salt, cook till tomato gets or you can add tomato puree.
  • Add all masalas add mix well.
  • Add the cooked bhindi and onion, mix well with masalas.
  • Cook the sabzi on low heat for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add lemon juice (optional) and mix. Serve bhindi do pyaza with roti or rice.
  • Enjoy Bhindi bharta with rice or roti.
