INGREDIENTS OF SPINE GOURD FRY

  • Kankada/spine gourd- 250gm
  • Oil-1tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder -1/2teaspoon
  • Red chili powder-1teaspoon
  • Garam masala-1teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds-1/2teaspoon
  • Green chili-2
  • Salt/luna to taste

Preparation

Steps of kankada bhaja recipe:

  • Clean the Spiny Gourd / Kankada and pat dry.
  • Cut into thin slices.
  • Heat 1teaspoon oil in a kadhai Or heavy bottomed pan.Put mustard seeds, cumin seeds. When it starts crackle, add green chili’s.
  • Now, put sliced kankada, chili, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, mix well. Cover with a lid and fry it till half done. Remove the lid and fry till done.
  • After 10min your kankad bhaja is ready.
  • Serve kankad bhaja in a serving bowl perfect combo with rice and roti.
