INGREDIENTS OF SPINE GOURD FRITTERS

  • Kankada- 4
  • Oil-for frying
  • Besan/Gram flour-1cup
  • Turmeric powder haladigunda-1/2teaspoon
  • Red chili powder/lanka gunda-1teaspoon
  • Salt/luna to taste
  • Water as required to paste

Preparation

Steps of kankada pakoda recipe:

  • Clean the Spiny Gourd / Kankada and pat dry.
  • Cut into equal thin round slices.
  • In a bowl, add gram flour,salt,turmeric powder, chili powder , required amount of water mix properly and make a batter. The batter should not so thin Or so thick. Now add slices of Spiny gourd/Kankrol and mix properly.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a wide bottomed pan.
  • Now, put besan coated Spiny gourd in the oil and deep fry till it’s golden brown.
  • Serve the kankada pakoda as a side dish with rice or pakhala or serve as evening snacks with cup of tea.
