Corn Besan curry/Maka besan tarkari(ମକା ବେସନ ତରକାରି)

Corn besan curry is an easy,healthy, gluten free dish which prepared with grated corn besan, make omelette and gravy with indian dry spices. It goes well with rice,roti.

This is my innovative gluten free recipe.

Today we will learn how to make corn besan curry with this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

INGREDIENTS OF CORN BESAN CURRY

FOR BESAN CORN OMELETTE—-

  • Corn-1cup(grated)
  • Besan(gram flour) -1cup
  • Oil-2 tbsp
  • Chili powder-1/2teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder-1/4teaspoon
  • Salt as per taste

FOR GRAVY

  • Potato-1big cut into cube
  • Tomato -1medium( puree)
  • Oil-2tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds/jeera-1/2 teaspoon
  • Tej Pata-1
  • Onion -1
  • Garlic cloves-4-5
  • Ginger- 1/2 inch
  • Curry leaves-4-5
  • Salt /luna to taste
  • Red chili powder/lanka gunda-1 tablespoon
  • Coriander powder/dhania gunda-1tablespoon
  • Cumin powder /jeera gunda-1teaspoon
  • Garam masala-1tablespoon
  • Black salt-1/4teaspoon(optional)
  • Turmeric powder/haladi gunda-1/4 teaspoon

Preparation

Steps of Corn besan curry recipe:

Make corn besan batter

1.In a bowl combine grated corn, besan, chili powder, turmeric powder and salt.

2.Pour enough water to make a thick batter.

3.Blend well to ensure that there are no lumps.

Make corn besan omelette

1.Heat a tablespoon of oil in a kadhai. 2.Pour the thick batter as round shape.

3.Drizzle oil around the sides and cook for 3-4min or till cooked well both sides.

4.Take them out into a plate and cool it. cut the omelette into 1inch squares. Keep aside.

For gravy

1.At first make a paste of 1onion, 4 garlics, 1inch ginger.

2.Heat 2tbs oil in a heavy bottomed pan or kadhai, put tej pata, cumin seeds , saute for a minute.

3.Then add Onion-garlic-ginger paste, saute it for 3-4min or till raw smell disappeared.

4.In a small bowl mix red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, black salt, garam masala with 2tablespoon water.

5.Now pour this spice mix into the kadhai. Stir and saute for 2min.

6.Now add potato, fry for 2min over medium flame. Then add 2 cups water, let it boil and cook till potato done.

7.Then add curry leaves, salt, tomato puree, pieces of prepared corn besan cube, mix well and simmer for 7-8min.

8.Switch off the flame. Your delicious corn besan curry is ready.

9.Serve this delicious curry with rice or chapatti.

Turn off the flame and enjoy with rice or chapati.

10.Serve this delicious curry with rice or chapatti.
