Tomato curry Recipe

Today we will learn how to make Tomato curry with this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

INGREDIENTS OF TOMATO CURRY

  • Tomatoes- 1 cup chopped (about 3 medium tomatoes)
  • Onions(piaja)-½ cup chopped
  • Green chilies(kancha lanka)-2 cut into slit
  • Cumin seeds(jeera)-1/2tbs
  • Dry chili(sukhila lanka)-3
  • Turmeric powder(Haldi gunda)-¼ teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder(lanka gunda)-1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder(jeera gunda)-1teaspoon
  • Salt to taste(luna)
  • Oil(tela)/ghee- 2 tablespoon
  • Curry leave-1string

Preparation

Steps of Tomato curry recipe:

  1. Heat oil/ghee in a kadai or pan.Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds,curry leave,dry chili.

  2. Then add chopped onions and green chillies.

  3. Sauté on medium heat for about 1 to 2 minutes, until the onions turn slightly soft and pink.

  4. Then add chopped tomatoes and salt,give it a good stir.

  5. Now add turmeric powder,chili powder,cumin powder.

  6. Cook on medium flame until the tomatoes cooked.

  7. Remove from heat and garnish with curry leaves.

  8. serve hot with rotis, parathas, naan, puris etc. or even just a bowl of hot steaming cooked rice.
