Cucumber Roti /Southekayi rotti/kakudi roti Recipe

Cucumber roti is a very delicious and healthy bread recipe. It goes with yoghurt, pickle and spicy curries. This authentic recipe is quite popular in North Indian cuisine and tastes divine.  17 - Copy

Today we will learn how to make Cucumber roti with this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

INGREDIENTS OF CUCUMBER ROTI

  • Cucumber(kakudi)- 1
  • Green chilli(kancha lanka) – 2
  • Grated ginger (Ada)- 1 tsp
  • Wheat flour (Gaham chuna)- 1 cup
  • Besan flour – 1/4 cup
  • Cumin powder(jeera gunda) – 1 sp
  • Ajwain crushed – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder(Haladi gunda) – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil or ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves

Preparation

Steps of cucumber roti recipe:

1.Wash and slice cucumber to small pieces.

2.In a blender take pieces of cucumber,green chili,chopped ginger,coriander leaves,add 2 tbs water and grind to make smooth paste.

Blend to smooth paste

3.In a mixing bowl take besan and wheat flour.2 - Copy

4.Then add smooth paste of cucumber , salt, cumin powder, turmeric powder, Crushed ajwain and mix well.

6.Rest  the dough for 5 mins.

7.Divide into equal sized balls.10 - Copy

8.Take a dough ball, dust with flour and roll it to round discs as shown in pic.10 (2) - Copy11 - Copy

9.Heat a pan.
