Groundnut chutney/Peanut chutney/ Badam chutney recipe

Groundnut chutney is delicious chutney for idly and dosa.It is a perfect side dishfor upma, uttapams too.

Today we will learn how to make groundnut chutney with this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

INGREDIENTS OF GROUNDNUT CHUTNEY

  • Peanut / groundnut/Badam -1/2 cup
  • Chana dal -1/4 cup
  • Garlic cloves/rasuna-4-5
  • Ginger/ada-1/4 inch
  • Green chili/kacha lanka-2 -3
  • Water -½ cup or as required

For tadka/tempering:

  • Oil/tela-1tbsp
  • Mustard seeds/sorisa-1/2 tsp
  • Dried red chillies/sukhila lanka-2
  • Curry leaves-5-6

Preparation

Steps of ground nut chutney  recipe:

1.Dry roast peanut,chana dal,garlic,ginger on medium flame.(you can roast individual also)2018-07-11-08-45-20
2.Allow to cool down and remove the skin completely.But i like with peanut skin.2018-07-11-08-52-52
3.ln a blender add fried peanut,chana dal,garlic,ginger,green chilli
and salt to taste.2018-07-11-09-11-55
4.Blend to smooth consistency by adding ½ cup water, or as required.2018-07-11-09-16-06
 for tempering:

  1. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, dried red chilli and few curry leaves.2018-07-11-09-18-49
    2.Allow the tempering to splutter.
    3.Pour the tempering over peanut chutney and serve along with idli or dosa.
