Coconut Halwa Recipe

A Rich and yummy coconut halwa can be made from freshly grated coconut ,milk, nuts like cashews, almonds, pistachios, etc. which gives it a unique flavor and taste.Try this delicious dessert on the occasion of Diwali.

  • Freshly grated coconut-1 cup
  • Milk-1/2 Cup
  • Sugar-¼ cup (Add more sugar if you prefer more sweet)
  • Cardamom powder-1 tbs
  • Kesari color/Saffron-1 teaspoon
  • Ghee-3tbsp
  • Almond flakes ,silver sugar balls & raisins for garnishing


Steps of Coconut Halwa recipe:

1.Grind grated coconutwith little water to make a smooth paste.IMG-20180704-WA0118

2.In kadhai Put coconut paste, add sugar, milk and mix well,stir on medium to slow flame till moisture evaporate.

3.Add saffron & cardamom powder . Mix well so that the halwa gets nice saffron colour.

4.Then add ghee and continue to stir till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.IMG-20180704-WA0134

5.Now switch off the flame, add remaining 1 tsp of ghee and stir for about 3-4 minutes. (Ghee makes the halwa softer when it sets)IMG-20180704-WA0138
