Sago kheer is a Indian dessert made from sago or tapioca,milk and sugar.you can replace sugar with jaggery. sago kheer is prepared especially during fasting festivals . it is prepared during navratri fasting also.

INGREDIENTS OF SAGO PAYASAM
- Sago / Sabudana – 1 cup
- Full cream Milk – 3 cup
- Sugar – 1/2 cup
- Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
- Nuts – 3 tblspn (I used Almonds,Raisin)
Steps of Sago payasam recipe:
1.Wash sago properly and add enough water until it is just above the level of Sago.Soak it for 2-3 hrs .Do not add more water as it will make sago soft and soggy.
2.Take milk in a sauce pan, bring it to boil. Simmer till it has reduced a little. It will take around 10 mins.
3.Add sugar, cardamom powder and mix well.
4.Now add sago, mix well. Simmer the flame and cook for 15mins. stir occasionally making sure it doesnt stick to bottom of pan.
5.Simmer for another 10 minutes stirring in between.Switch off the flame.
6.Add nuts and mix properly.
serve sabudana kheer warm or cold.
